Holidays in Kenya
Bordering five other East African nations as well as Lake Victoria and the Indian Ocean, Kenya is the destination that, for many, offers the ultimate African experience. The chief reason for this is that Kenya is essentially the birthplace of the safari as a holidaying concept, therefore offering the opportunity to get up close to the mighty beasts that are so synonymous with the African continent.

‘Safari’ is a Swahili word of Arabic origin meaning ‘journey’ or ‘expedition’, and while it is true that other African countries can offer amazing journeys or expeditions to view extraordinary creatures in their natural habitats, few can match the sheer scale and drama of what Kenya presents the visitor.
While the opportunity to mingle with incredible wildlife acts as a powerful magnet to many heading for Kenya, there is a great deal more to this spectacular country than ‘merely’ safari holidays. For a start, Kenya boasts almost 500 kilometres of magnificent, coral reef-trimmed coastline that can rightly claim amongst the world’s most beautiful beaches. It is also a breathtakingly scenic land of huge history, pulsating cities and wonderful people with seemingly permanent beaming smiles: Kenya truly is a land that once experienced is indelibly scorched into your memory forever.
